When you shop online, the order confirmation is your receipt. When shopping online, you can virtually never get a receipt from the store, because the store (with very few exceptions) does not handle the payment itself. Instead, you receive a confirmation of the purchase. In cases where a "receipt" is needed - for example, for insurance claims - an order confirmation is just as valid. We send out the order confirmation when the order is placed.
