What are shoulder pads?
Hockey shoulder pads are typically pulled over your head and consist mostly of two shoulder caps that protect your shoulders and upper arms. They also have reinforcements over the chest to protect your ribs, and additional padding over the shoulders and upper back.

How should shoulder pads fit?
It’s important that the shoulder pads fit snugly around your shoulders and cover the entire chest. You can adjust the fit using straps that run from the back and fasten at the front with Velcro. There are also similar straps that tighten around your biceps to ensure the protection stays securely in place on your upper arms.
